KUALA LUMPUR: The proposed increase in private general practitioners’ fees will be brought up to
the Cabinet, says Health Minister Dr Dzulkey Ahmad (pic).
He said it was discussed at the ministry’s post-Cabinet meeting on Wednesday following the
Malaysian Medical Association’s proposal, and feedback gained from a townhall meeting held in
August.

KUALA LUMPUR: Healthcare associations have lauded the government’s move to review the fee
rates of patients who were referred to public hospitals from private hospitals.
Malaysian Medical Association president Dr Mohamed Namazie Ibrahim said the review is a “wise
and sensible” move.
