15 July 2026 – MMA wants healthcare workforce dashboard to drive reforms.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) has called for a comprehensive healthcare workforce dashboard to complement the Health Ministry’s newly granted autonomy over workforce management, saying it is essential to improve transparency and support evidence-based workforce planning.

Permanency alone may not be sufficient to address the challenge of attracting and retaining doctors in Sabah and Sarawak. More attention should be given to measures that improve long-term retention, including greater flexibility in inter-state transfers.
