MMA’s psychological first aid service now available to the public

The Malaysian Medical Association’s (MMA) psychological first aid service, initially provided to frontliners and
healthcare workers battling Covid-19, is now also available to the public who are experiencing mental and emotional health issues due to
measures under the movement control order (MCO). MMA president Dr N Ganabaskaran said the service was a corporate
social responsibility initiative by MMA for the public.

particularly to the elderly, in the case of a balik kampung exodus, is very real”.

Stop discrimination against healthcare workers ― N. Ganabaskaran

discriminatory practices against healthcare workers residing at a condominium in Petaling
Jaya where the condo’s lifts have been segregated for use to protect other residents
from getting infected with Covid-19. MMA was recently informed.

An Open Letter to the Prime Minister of Malaysia

Pandemic Covid-19 has become the greatest challenge and socioeconomic crisis in this country, as it
has in almost every country in the world. To Malaysia’s credit, the measures taken by the
government, guided by professionals and the best available knowledge, have so far managed to
prevent the sort of runaway increase in cases and deaths that we have seen in some other countries.
This is partly due to the movement control order (MCO) that is now due for review. In deciding what
to do now, we hope the government will be guided by certain facts.

MMA: Don’t put off appointments, monitor health and stay in touch with doctors

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) has advised that patients with medical
conditions should remain in touch with their family doctor and not put off important scheduled
health check-ups.
Its president Dr N. Ganabaskaran (pic) said regular health checks are key to good health
maintenance, adding that general practitioners (GPs) are playing an important role in managing non-
Covid-19 cases.

MMA and Shopee launch relief fund for frontline healthcare workers

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) and the Malaysian Medical
Association Foundation (MMAF) in collaboration with online shopping platform Shopee have
launched a national relief fund for healthcare workers battling the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Shopee MMA Covid-19 Fund will be chanelled to the frontline
